Chiamaka Nnadozie, Nigeria’s Super Falcons goalkeeper, has been named Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards.

This was announced at the award ceremony on Monday night at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, where Nnadozie was celebrated for her outstanding performances for her club, Paris FC, and the Nigerian national team.

Nnadozie’s stellar achievements included playing a key role in Nigeria’s successful campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

She also delivered remarkable performances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where her penalty shootout heroics gained international recognition.

Her contributions helped Paris FC secure a historic run in the Champions League and a third-place finish in France’s Division 1 Féminine. Her efforts earned her the Goalkeeper of the Season title for the 2023/24 campaign, with a 33% clean sheet ratio and several game-saving displays.

Expressing her gratitude after receiving the award, the 24-year-old said, “This is for every young girl who dares to dream. I am honoured to represent Nigeria and Africa on this stage. This award is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the incredible support I’ve received from my teammates and coaches.”

Nnadozie beat strong competition from Andile Dlamini, Khadija Er-rmichi, Habiba Sabry, and Fideline Ngoy to claim the prestigious title.

Her exceptional form for Paris FC and her leadership on the international stage have solidified her reputation as one of the finest goalkeepers in world football.
