The Corporate Affairs Commission has said it will raise the cost of some of its services starting from August 1, 2025.
In a public notice on Tuesday, the commission explained that the increase is due to the rising cost of operations and the need to improve its services.
“The Commission wishes to inform the general public, esteemed customers, and all stakeholders that in the continued efforts to improve its service quality and delivery, it has become necessary to review certain service fees effective the 1st day of August 2025,” the notice read.
According to CAC, the changes follow discussions with important stakeholders and take into account Nigeria’s current economic situation.
It added, “The review is modest, competitive and aligns with our commitment to enhance service delivery through digitalised operations and maintain the integrity of the Nigerian Corporate Registry.”
The new charges will apply to services related to business names, companies, incorporated trustees, and limited partnerships.
For example, companies that want to voluntarily remove their names from the registry will now pay ₦50,000 if they are small businesses and ₦100,000 for public companies. This is up from the old ₦25,000.
Also, to relist a company, small businesses and companies limited by guarantee (LTD/GTE) will pay ₦50,000, while public companies will pay ₦100,000.
Other changes include self-service due diligence search, now ₦50,000; and extension to hold an Annual General Meeting, ₦100,000 for public companies and ₦50,000 for others.
Certified true copies of documents will now cost ₦5,000 each, while historical search reports will cost between ₦20,000 and ₦30,000.
Restricting a director or proprietor’s address will also cost ₦25,000.
The commission said the new rates are part of its plans to modernise its services and run more smoothly in the digital age.
