Afrobeats stars Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, and Ayodeji Balogun, widely recognized as Wizkid, have emerged as the most viewed Nigerian musicians on YouTube based on data from their primary official channels.
According to figures reviewed by PUNCH Online, Burna Boy’s channel, @BurnaBoy, leads with over 3.32 billion views across 278 videos since its launch in January 2018.
The Grammy-winning artist also boasts 5.38 million subscribers, driven by his consistent video releases and a rapidly growing international fan base.
The ranking considers total video views, subscriber count, and volume of uploaded content, offering a snapshot of each artist’s digital influence and audience engagement.
YouTube continues to be a major platform for music distribution and revenue generation in Nigeria’s booming Afrobeats scene.
Wizkid’s @StarBoyTV channel follows closely, with more than 2.2 billion views from 88 videos since it was created in September 2014. Though Wizkid also runs a separate WizkidVevo channel, which pushes his total YouTube views beyond 3.8 billion, the ranking here considers only his @StarBoyTV channel.
Rema, operating under the channel @heisrema, ranks third with over 2.07 billion views from 184 videos. Since launching his channel in April 2019, Rema has quickly grown in visibility, amassing nearly 5 million subscribers, thanks to viral tracks and high-profile collaborations.
Davido’s official channel, which debuted in November 2018, has garnered close to 2 billion views with 162 videos and a following of 4.5 million subscribers. His page remains a hub for music releases, visuals, and behind-the-scenes content.
CKay, whose global breakout hit Love Nwantiti significantly boosted his international profile, has surpassed 1.6 billion views from 124 videos. His channel, active since 2013, currently has 4.2 million subscribers.
Flavour, a veteran in the Nigerian music industry, has accumulated over 1.4 billion views from more than 400 videos since starting his channel in 2011, with 3.67 million subscribers to date.
Kizz Daniel, active on YouTube since 2019, has recorded over 1.3 billion views across 255 videos, supported by a subscriber base of 3.39 million.
Despite a temporary hiatus, PSquare continues to maintain a strong digital presence. Their channel, launched in May 2011, has generated over 1.3 billion views from 104 videos, with 2.73 million subscribers.
Tekno, with just 48 videos on his channel since 2020, has surpassed 1.17 billion views, drawing in 2.62 million subscribers—a testament to his high-impact releases.
Youngest among the top ten is Ayra Starr, who has crossed the 1 billion view mark on YouTube since launching her channel in January 2021. With 140 videos and 2.6 million subscribers, she continues to build momentum as a standout new voice in Afrobeats.
