International Afrobeat star Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu also known as Burna Boy, has vowed to remain single, using the ongoing custody battle between his colleague, Davido, and his baby mama, Sophia Momodu, as a case study.

This decision comes in light of Davido’s legal struggles, which have included a counter-affidavit citing negligence that led to the loss of his first son.

Sharing his thoughts on the situation, Burna Boy emphasized the importance of being cautious in relationships. He wrote, “Odogwu too wise. Who no hear go FEEL.”

A concerned fan advised Burna Boy to consider marriage and starting a family, especially since he recently turned 33. “Burna Boy, you should start planning for your future by getting married and starting a family. OBO has already set an example. You’re over 33 now, and you need to understand that you’re not getting any younger,” the fan wrote.

However, Burna Boy insisted on staying single, saying, “Baba make I just dey as I dey abeg, u nor see wetin him dey face like dis?”

He did, however, express admiration for the relationship between celebrity couple Adekunle Gold and his wife, Simi, saying, “Ehen! Na wetin we dey pray for be that bros.”

Burna Boy has been linked to several high-profile women, but his most publicized relationship was with British-Jamaican rapper Stefflon Don, which lasted from 2018 to 2022.

They were rumored to have rekindled their romance in 2024, but Stefflon Don has stated they are no longer together.

In another instance, Burna Boy defended Davido against allegations from singer Dammy Krane, who accused Davido of being involved in the 2017 death of his former aide, Tagbo. Dammy Krane claimed, “I’m boldly saying @davido Has hand in Tagbo’s death. If I’m lying they should sue me, make everything cast for court. I ready help am spread all hin dirty linen for public. Justice for Tagbo.”

Burna Boy responded to Dammy Krane, urging him to stop making such accusations. “Bro. WTF are you doing?? Take this down now!! Make me and u no get problem abeg. No be like this we dey handle differences. We both know how it feels to be locked up, why TF would you wish that on anyone? I gat love for u but I do NOT stand for none of this police ass shit. Dammy Krane insisted that he was fighting for justice, saying, “Blooda no be until something do my enemy I go call police cos na only God dey for me like this. Na so them whine mohbad till them k!Ll am. You know the matter @burnaboy Evil prevail when good people refuse to talk. After God na government — industry landlord.”
