Afrobeats star, Burna Boy, has gifted singer Portable N20 million following his win over Speed Darlington in a widely talked-about celebrity boxing match.

Recall that the bout took place on Friday night at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. It ended in a technical knockout, with Portable declared the winner after Speed Darlington failed to rise for the second round.

Portable took to Instagram to share the news, expressing gratitude to Burna Boy for the generous reward. In his Instagram Story, he wrote: “20 million from @burnaboygram. If you want to be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu? God bless your family.”

The reward comes amid an ongoing rift between Burna Boy and Speed Darlington. In November 2024, Darlington was arrested for allegedly cyberstalking the Grammy-winning artist. During the feud, Darlington had taunted Burna Boy over his relationship with American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently facing multiple serious charges, including sexual abuse and human trafficking.

Darlington questioned the legitimacy of Burna Boy’s Grammy win for the album Twice As Tall, executive produced by Diddy. He went as far as claiming there was a sexual relationship between the two, fueling further controversy.

After spending two months in police custody, Darlington was released in January. Burna Boy later warned that there would be “no mercy next time” if similar behavior persisted.

In a new twist, Darlington has challenged Portable to a rematch, claiming he would use “juju” (voodoo) to ensure victory in the next round.
