Burna Boy condemns Uganda police’s treatment of Omah Lay, Tems

Grammy nominee, Burna Boy, has condemned the treatment of Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems by the Ugandan Police Force.

Recall that both rising-stars were arrested for breaching the country’s COVID-19 guidelines by performing in a show and are being geld in custody.

Reacting some hours ago on his verified Twitter handle, the Twice As Tall singer opined that the police should not target have targeted the singers.

“They should not be treated like this! @PoliceUg?! they were invited for a show organised by your citizens, granted visas, tickets were sold publicly on the WORLD WIDE WEB! this anarchy should not be targeted at the artists! #freetems #FreeOmahLay”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Government said it is doing all it can to ensure the release of Omah Lay and Tems from the African country,

Reacting to the news, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, said “The Minister @GeoffreyOnyeama has also been on the matter. Our mission in Uganda has also taken it up and I just had a conversation with the lawyer representing them.”
