Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, today, November 11, 2016, passed a vote of confidence on made in Nigeria products as he appealed to all Nigerians and government agencies to patronize goods and services made in Nigeria.
Saraki made the appeal when he granted audience to representatives of Leather and Allied Products Manufacturers Association of Abia State at the National Assembly.
Speaking at the meeting, the former governor of Kwara State said, “I strongly believe that #MadeinNigeria can be exported to the rest of the world. We can make anything that we want. The sky is our limit.”
“Govt spends more than N2 Trillion annually in purchase of goods, our aim is to ensure large chunk of the funds go to Nigerian manufacturers.
“Local manufacturers can petition @NGRSenate where they feel a govt agency is deliberating denying them the opportunity to sell their goods.
“I have a promise from @HouseNGR that they will soon pass the Procurement Act. Govt agencies must patronize Made in Nigeria.
“When agencies come to defend their 2017 budget. @NGRSenate will insist they show evidence that they patronize and purchase locally made goods.”
