Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has dismissed the common narrative of describing women as gold diggers, insisting that such characterizations are unfair in relationships.

The actress shared her views during a recent interview where she discussed the roles of men, finances and expectations in relationships.

According to Wright, it is the responsibility of a man to provide for and ensure the well-being of his partner.

She further stated that a woman should be someone a man is proud to have by his side, stressing that relationships should be built on mutual value and respect.

Wright also advised women not to lower their standards, while urging men who are unable to meet the financial demands of a relationship to either date within their means or refrain from pursuing relationships until they are financially prepared.

“I hate it when I hear men calling women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold. If you cannot afford a woman, don’t go for it; go for the one you can afford,” she said.
