The Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali, has announced that Muhammadu Buhari University, located in Daura, Katsina State, is set to kick off academic activities in October of this year.
The revelation came during an inspection tour to the university’s permanent site in Daura on Friday, led by the Minister himself.
During his visit, Minister Alkali also revealed that the university had already submitted its course offerings to the National Universities Commission for review and the determination of the number of students to be admitted.
During an inspection tour of the school’s permanent site in Daura, the minister commended the China Civil Engineering Construction Company for building the university as part of their corporate social responsibility.
He encouraged other companies to emulate this practice by contributing to educational or healthcare institutions.
Alkali also appealed to CCECC to provide the university with a takeoff grant to facilitate its initial operations.
The new Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Umar Adamu Katsayal, mentioned that the institution had modern facilities, including hostels for male and female students, to support effective learning.
