Buhari consoles ex-INEC chair over mother’s death

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his heartfelt condolences to Professor Mahmud Jega, the former chairman of the National Electoral Commission, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Hauwa Kulu Muhammadu Jega. She passed away in Abuja after a brief illness.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari emphasized the deep pain of losing a mother, stating, “There is no greater loss than that of a mother.”

Buhari shared his sympathies, saying, “I would like to express my deepest condolences for the passing of your beloved mother. May her soul rest in peace.”

He added, “Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you will find solace and comfort in the good deeds she left behind. May Allah grant her Aljannul Firdaus.”
