A Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa and the organised labour on Monday sharply disagreed over whether President Muhammadu Buhari can be considered Nigeria’s own Nelson Mandala.
While labour leaders have expressed hope that, President Muhammadu Buhari could be another Mandela of this world, Musa argued that there was no basis to compare Mandela with Buhari.
The the immediate past Vice- President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Alhaji Issa Aremu while speaking at an event to mark Nelson Mandela Day stated that President Buhari just like Nelson Mandela inherited a lot of conflicts of diverse society and commended him for taming the menace of Boko haram.
He noted that though there are still serial conflicts that are claiming hundreds of lives such as the so-called farmers/herdmen clashes, the militants in the Niger Delta, Buhari could still learn from Mandela’s approach.

Aremu added that like Mandela, Buhari has what it takes to unite and lead Nigeria to prosperity.
He called on the President to emulate the late South Africa President in addressing the nation’s myriad conflicts.
“However there are still serial conflicts that are claiming hundreds of lives such as the so-called farmers/heard men clashes, the militants in the Niger Delta.
“I think Buhari can learn from Mandela approach to conflict resolutions.
” However this should not be another exercise in vain. Justice must be made to the victims of unresolved killing,” Aremu said.
Speaking at the same event organised by the National Union of Textile Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, Musa said Buhari had nothing in common with the late South Africa President.
He shot back at the labour leader to stop comparing Mandela with Buhari.
However, the leader of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, said President Buhari poses the least risk to Nigeria among other politician in the country.
Musa said, “you can not compare Mandela and Buhari. There is no basis for comparism. The only things is that Buhari poses the least risk compare to other Nigeria’ s politician.”
