The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has approved the composition of the Federal Government’s team that will dialogue with Twitter over the suspension of its (Twitter) operations in Nigeria.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the approval in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
The team which comprises the Attorney-General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Works and Housing, Minister of State for Labour and Employment as well as other relevant government agencies, will be headed by Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
WuzupNigeria had reported that the activities on Twitter are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence according to the federal government, thus, the suspension of its activities in the country.
Twitter wrote to President Buhari seeking to engage with the Federal Government over the suspension, with a view to charting a path forward.
