American singer Bruno Mars has responded to old rumors that he owes $50 million to MGM Resorts.

Mars, 39, made a playful comment on his Instagram Stories while celebrating his record-breaking success on Spotify.

He reposted Spotify’s announcement that he was the first artist to reach 150 million monthly listeners and wrote, “KEEP STREAMING. I’ll be out of debt in no time,” adding a dancing emoji.

The Grammy-winning artist’s joke referred to reports from last year that claimed he owed millions in gambling debt to MGM Resorts in Las Vegas. A report by NewsNation in March 2024 said a source alleged, “He owes millions to MGM from gambling… his debts have gotten as high as $50 million.” The source added that MGM “basically owns him.”

However, MGM denied the claims. A spokesperson for the casino company told TMZ, “Bruno Mars doesn’t have a $50 million gambling tab with us. Our partnership is rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false.”

Mars made the joke on the same day he announced an extension of his residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas. He has scheduled seven new shows for May and June 2025.

Despite the debt rumors, Mars continues to dominate the music charts. His duet with Lady Gaga, Die With a Smile, has been number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, while his collaboration with BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ, APT., has also climbed high on the charts.
