Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has shared his thoughts on a recent audio recording involving popular influencer Bobrisky.

The audio, released by VeryDarkMan, allegedly captures Bobrisky admitting to offering a ₦15 million bribe to officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to resolve a money laundering case.

This has created a buzz on social media, with many people calling for a thorough investigation.

The audio features Bobrisky reportedly confessing that he was charged ₦15 million for his role in the money laundering case, leading to widespread debate online.

Following this, the EFCC chairman ordered an investigation and summoned both Bobrisky and VDM for questioning.

In a video posted on social media, Seun Kuti, the son of the famous musician Fela Kuti, explained how he got involved.

He revealed, “VDM reached out to me first, sharing all the evidence he had about Bobrisky’s alleged bribe.” Seun, who has faced legal issues himself, advised VDM to make the information public. He emphasized the importance of transparency in such matters, saying, “It is crucial to ensure the truth comes to light.”

Seun also drew parallels between his experiences and the ongoing investigation, stating, “Standing up for what you believe in requires courage and the willingness to face the consequences.”

He expressed frustration over the alleged preferential treatment Bobrisky received from the EFCC, especially since he himself was jailed during a past encounter with the police.

He criticized the EFCC, claiming it often fails to target the real enemies of the state. “The EFCC was never intended to target true criminals,” Seun said. “It was created by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the American government to go after small-time criminals like ‘yahoo boys’ while allowing corrupt politicians to operate freely.”

Seun condemned the agency’s focus on young internet fraudsters instead of addressing the deeper political and corporate corruption in Nigeria. “We need to pay attention to the real issues facing our country,” he urged.

As the investigation continues, many Nigerians are eagerly awaiting updates. The EFCC has promised a thorough probe and will share the findings with the public.
