Ramsey scores as Wales beats Turkey 2-0
Wales has inched closer to the knockout stages of the Euro 2020 after producing a brilliant performance to defeat hard-fighting Turkey in Baku.
Juventus midfielder, Aaron Ramsey, opened the scoring shortly before half-time after spurning two glorious chances.
The Welsh combined beautifully with Tottenham’s Gareth Bale to net the first goal.
Bale himself could have put the result beyond doubt himself when winning a second-half penalty, but the Real Madrid star blazed his spot-kick way over the bar.
UK Standard reported that the result sends Wales to the top of Group A, at least until Italy play Switzerland later on Wednesday, and it would take an unlikely sequence of results to see them miss out on the last-16, as one of the best third-placed teams at the very least.
