President Muhammadu Buhari is back to Nigeria after a scheduled stop in London.
Multiple media sources report that the President’s aircraft landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Monday.
Buhari had left the country on Sunday, September 17 to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Buhari in the company of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigerian Permanent Representative to United Nations, Prof. Mohammed Bandi, Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi and Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu participated at the opening ceremony and general debate at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on 19th Sept 2017.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, had said President Muhammadu Buhari will spend only four days in London after which he will return to Nigeria.
Adesina, however, did not state the reason for Buhari’s visit.
Responding to an inquiry via a text message, the President’s spokesman told The Punch, “We just landed in London. The President is in transit; to be back in Nigeria on Monday.”
The Presidency also said last week that Buhari would be making a stopover in London before returning to Nigeria but did not disclose the reason for his return.
