A 30-year-old Brazilian gospel singer Pedro Henrique passed away after collapsing on stage during a performance in Feira de Santana, Brazil, on Wednesday.
Henrique was performing his song ‘Vai Ser Tão Lindo’ at a religious event that was being streamed online when he suddenly fell in front of his band inside a concert venue.
The horrifying moment was captured on video, showing the singer losing his balance and falling on his back.
Attendees rushed to assist Henrique as the crowd looked on in shock. He was swiftly taken to a nearby clinic, where he was later pronounced dead.
Henrique’s record label, Todah Music, disclosed that the cause of death was a massive heart attack.
Todah Music expressed their sorrow in an Instagram post, stating, ‘These are very difficult situations in life for which we have no explanation. We just need to understand that the will of God prevails.’
Describing Henrique as a cheerful and dedicated individual, the record label said he was ‘a friend to all, the only child, a present husband, and a super dedicated father.’
Pedro Henrique leaves behind his wife, Suilan Barreto, and their daughter Zoe, born on October 19.
As of Thursday, Barreto, a gospel influencer, had not made any public comments regarding the tragic incident.
In an eerie twist, hours before the performance, Henrique jokingly remarked about being tired to one of his friends, saying, ‘I’m tired, I’m tired. That’s why I want fame. I’m tired.’
Pedro Henrique, who began singing at the age of 3 and pursued a professional career in 2015, had recently started a solo project and was set to debut it on his YouTube channel.
His latest release was highly anticipated, as expressed by Henrique on Instagram, where he thanked Todah Music for the opportunity.
The gospel singer had left a mark on the Brazilian music scene, having started his career at a young age and gained popularity through his performances and releases.
