American R&B legends Brandy and Monica have announced their first-ever joint tour, 25 years after the release of their famous duet, The Boy Is Mine.

The singers revealed the 24-city arena tour on CBS Mornings, thrilling fans who have waited over two decades to see them perform together. The tour, also titled The Boy Is Mine, will begin on October 16 in Cincinnati and wrap up on December 7 in Houston.

Brandy shared her excitement about finally going on tour with Monica. “They were trying to get us to do a tour since ’98 and it just finally felt like the right time,” she said. “It was a dream come true.”

Monica called their reunion a “musical marriage,” adding, “We created the communication and the relationship to do it.”

Their hit single, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 straight weeks in 1998, helped define an era of R&B and brought both singers international fame. After appearing together in Ariana Grande’s music video remake of The Boy Is Mine last year, the duo saw a fresh wave of attention and even got a Grammy nomination for the remix.

Joining them on the tour are Grammy winner Kelly Rowland, singer-songwriter Muni Long, and Jamal Roberts, the 2025 American Idol winner.

The announcement comes after years of public speculation about a reported feud between the two stars. Monica addressed the issue, saying, “There was a lot of confusion and conflict and there was a lot of people around.” She made it clear that the storyline of the original song never matched their real lives. “We don’t even like the same type of boy… there could never have been a boy,” she said with a laugh.

Now older, wiser, and ready to celebrate their journey, both singers say this tour is about more than just music.

“It’s a celebration of music, a celebration of womanhood,” Monica said. “We want to give them everything they want, but we can’t keep them there all night. So we have to figure out how to put all of that in two hours.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday through Ticketmaster, with presales starting Thursday.
