American pay television network, Home Box Office, has announced the premiere date for the “Game of Thrones” spinoff show “House of the Dragon” August 21.
It will be a ten-episode drama set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” telling the story of House Targaryen, Daenerys and Jon’s ancestors, based on George R. R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood.”
“Game of Thrones” director Miguel Sapochnik, best known for helming the show’s infamous action set pieces such as “The Battle of the Bastards,” is back as a director and producer / co-showrunner.
The plot centers on the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war that took place between Targaryen siblings Aegon II and Rhaenyra over the throne after their father’s death.
