Borno gov orders investigation into commissioner’s death
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has ordered an investigation into the death of the state Commissioner for Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Ibrahim Garba.
Garba died on Saturday morning in Maiduguri, according to a statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Isa Gusau. The statement did not disclose the cause of death.
Governor Zulum has expressed his shock and grief over the commissioner’s death, and has asked the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Yusuf, to investigate the matter urgently.
“Governor Babagana Umara Zulum received the news with intense shock and profound grief,” “The governor mourns alongside the late commissioner’s family, other loved ones, friends, associates, and members of the State Executive Council,” Gusau said in the statement.
The police have confirmed that they have launched an investigation into Garba’s death.
