Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has promised to sponsor the university education of 37 laborers engaged in the construction of resettlement houses for internally displaced persons in Nguro Soye village of Bama Local Government Area.

Zulum announced this during an inspection visit to the construction site on Thursday.

During his visit, he discovered that some of the laborers possessed Senior Secondary School Certificates, making them eligible for admission to tertiary institutions.

In response, the governor pledged full sponsorship for any of the laborers who meet the admission requirements for university education.

He stated, “Let me know how many of you have completed secondary school, and we will sponsor you to pursue undergraduate degree courses at the university.”

In addition to this remarkable gesture, Zulum inspected structures destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents at Umar Ibn Ibrahim College of Education, Science and Technology in Bama.

He instructed the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement, Engr. Ibrahim Idriss, to conduct a thorough assessment of the damages incurred by the staff quarters and students’ hostels.
