British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and his new wife, Carrie nee Symmonds have ended their honeymoon just two days after getting married.

WUZUPNIGERIA reported that the couple got married in a secret ceremony on Saturday morning at the Catholic Westminster Cathedral in front of a handful of close friends and family.

However, a statement from Downing Street on Tuesday revealed that the 56-year-old Prime Minister returned to work this morning after he and Mrs Johnson, 33, escaped to Chequers, the grace-and-favour retreat in Buckinghamshire.

Daily Mail quoted a No 10 spokesman who told reporters: “The PM spent Sunday and Monday away but is now back working from Downing Street.”

The spokesman, however, failed to reveal where Mr Johnson travelled but noted that “It is a personal matter so I won’t be getting into any further detail.”

Meanwhile, Carrie who is the PM’s third wife has immediately changed the last name on her social media handles to ‘Carrie Johnson’ 48 hours after their top-secret wedding.

The couple has been living together in Downing Street since Johnson became prime minister in 2019. They share a son named Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, born last year.

Johnson was previously married to Marina Wheeler, and they had four children together, before they announced in September 2018 that they had separated and would divorce after 25 years of marriage.

He is the first Prime Minister to marry in office since Lord Liverpool married Mary Chester in 1822.

According to reports, Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds were the first unmarried couple to live in Downing Street.
