Rio 2016: Okagbare through to 100m semi-final
Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare has qualified for the women’s 100m semi finals at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after running a time of 11.16s and finishing second in Heat 3.
Tori Bowie won the race in a time of 11.13s, with Angela Tenorio finishing 3rd in 11.35s.
Unfortunately, Nigerian Olympic debutante, Jennifer Madu did not qualify for the semis. Madu competed in heat 5 and finished in a time of 11.61 while Gloria Asumnu finished 5th in Heat 2 with a time of 11.55s.
Orukpe Eraiyokan ran 47.42s to finish 7th in Heat 7 to leave only Okagbare trying to clinch a medal in her second Olympic games.
