Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has reportedly taken legal action against fellow artiste Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu. He is also known as Odumodublvck. This is over alleged defamatory publications. Moreover, it concerns reputational harm.
According to Rhythm FM in a post on X, the Blaqbonez lawsuit seeks ₦2bn in general damages. The documents attached to the post claim that the rapper “suffered and continues to suffer significant loss and damage”. This is as a result of the alleged conduct.
The legal documents, issued by Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors, accused Odumodublvck of publishing and amplifying statements allegedly considered defamatory. These statements were described as threatening and damaging to Blaqbonez’s reputation. Additionally, they claim harm to goodwill, commercial standing and business interests.
The documents also claimed that the publications portrayed Blaqbonez as a “sexual abuser,” “sexual abusing bastard,” and as a person guilty of sexual abuse or misconduct.
In the memorandum dated July 7, 2026, Blaqbonez’s lawyers said the alleged publications exposed their client to public ridicule, hatred and contempt. Furthermore, they claim it affected his emotional well-being, safety, brand value and professional relationships.
The Blaqbonez lawsuit also seeks several court orders against Odumodublvck. This includes an order directing him to delete or cause the deletion of all allegedly offending posts, reposts, captions, comments, replies, quote posts, videos and stories. In addition, he must remove them from his verified X and Instagram accounts.
The lawyers also asked the court to direct Odumodublvck to publish a full, clear and unequivocal public retraction. They also require an apology on his verified X and Instagram accounts.
According to the documents, the apology should receive equal prominence with the alleged offending publications. It should also remain pinned and visible for at least 30 consecutive days.
Blaqbonez also wants the court to order Odumodublvck to publish a notice warning his fans, followers, supporters and online community against harassing, threatening, abusing, intimidating or attacking him.
The documents further seek ₦500m as aggravated damages for what they described as the malicious, repeated, violent, threatening and reckless nature of the publications. In addition, they request ₦50m as the cost of the action.
Odumodublvck has since responded on X, insisting that he stands by his comments and does not consider them defamatory.
“I stand on it. This is not defamation,” he wrote.
The rapper also repeated his allegation against Blaqbonez and said public pressure would not make him change his position.
“Just because you give a hundred blogs to post your 10th petition to me, does not mean I will change my stance,” he added.
Odumodublvck also questioned previous petitions allegedly filed against him, writing, “If I was wrong why have your 9 other petitions to me failed?”
The Blaqbonez lawsuit has intensified the online exchange between both artistes. Fans are now reacting to the legal documents and Odumodublvck’s latest response.
The matter now appears likely to test whether the disputed social media posts amount to defamation. Alternatively, they may fall within the bounds of personal expression and public commentary.
