Bisi Alimi calls Nigeria “delusional homophobic nation” over Nollywood gay movie scene

Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi-Davis has lashed out at Femi Adebayo and indeed the whole country for being homophobic.

Mr. Alimi, who married his Scottish boyfriend in November 2016 described the movie and its gay theme as stupid and dustbin bullshit. He criticised the movie director saying the movie lacks any research at all.

The movie which incurred the LGBT rights activist is Feyint’oluwa which was released about two days ago. The movie which was written and produced by Funmilayo Adelusi featured Femi Adebayo and Damola Olatunji as gay partners.

Directed by Adebayo Piccolo,  the film  “is a story that depicts the life of a young couple who were in pursuit of a better life but the outcome of their survival was shocking which further resulted into taking bitter decisions,” the summary on the movie promoter’s social media page said.

But Ailmi would have non of that. “This is stupid, and honestly I am just being very nice because stupid will be offended that I compare this piece of dustbin bullshit to stupid,” Alimi wrote.

“I mean who wrote this script? Who directed it? What the actual fuck is wrong with #Nollywood? Is it a must to do gay stories? And which part of story research and character research this bunch of idiots can do?”
He said he was sure there are many LGBT people that are capable of  educating the filmmaker on the best way to tell the story, even “if  they really are bent on being homophobic…”

Alimi vented his anger via his instagram page. He reposted the gay scene in the movie and made his comment under it. See the post below.
