An aide to the Governor of Delta State, Ossai Success, has publicly criticized Pastor Jerry Eze over the guest list for his recent birthday party.

The renowned founder and leader of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations celebrated his 42nd birthday and Thanksgiving on October 4, 2023, with many famous guests.

Among the attendees were popular businessmen Obi Cubana and E-Money, as well as former First Lady Patience Ebele Jonathan.

However, Ossai expressed disappointment at Pastor Eze’s choice of guests. He said, “Pastor Jerry Eze shouldn’t have invited E-Money and Obi Cubana to his birthday. This is disappointing.”

Ossai believes that these businessmen do not represent the values expected at a Christian gathering.

He argued, “We all know E-Money and Cubana aren’t genuinely Christians, considering their lifestyles.” He compared Pastor Eze’s guest list to that of Bishop David Oyedepo, who did not invite them to his birthday celebration. Ossai stated, “If these guys were poor living a worldly lifestyle, I don’t think he would have invited them or associated himself with them.”

Ossai also referenced the Bible, quoting 2 Corinthians 6:14, which says, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.”

He added, “It’s disappointing that Pastor Jerry invited E-Money and Obi Cubana without encouraging them to commit to Jesus Christ. The birthday celebration should have been an opportunity to win souls for God, but after watching the birthday videos, I didn’t see E-Money or Obi Cubana give their lives to Jesus Christ.”

Reactions to Ossai’s comments poured in on social media. Some users agreed with him, saying, “Why should holy people be frolicking with the unholy?”

Others made jokes, suggesting that Pastor Eze should have invited biblical figures like Moses or John the Baptist instead.

One user, @economicsng, sarcastically suggested that if Pastor Eze wanted to invite holy figures, he should include “Moses, Father Abraham, and Methuselah.” Another user,

@ashake_alase, criticized Ossai, saying, “Una too dey criticize people too much, focus this energy on Nigeria and Tpain abeg.”

In response to the criticism, some defended Pastor Eze, saying he can invite whoever he wants and that people should stop analyzing others’ business. “Pastor Jerry can invite whoever he chooses,” wrote @cedar_babystore.
