Popular Nollywood actress, Beverly Osu, has shared insights into her preference for dating significantly older men, stating that it is not rooted in unresolved personal issues but is a result of her upbringing.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo on the WithChude podcast, the actress opened up about her romantic choices and the influence of her environment.
Beverly explained that she has always been drawn to older men, emphasizing that her attraction is not connected to “daddy issues.”
She clarified that she believes she has outgrown any such concerns.
“I have always dated guys much older than me. Do I have daddy issues? I don’t think I’ll call it that. I think I’ve outgrown the daddy issues,” she said. Beverly further explained that growing up, she was surrounded by boys and that all the men in her life have always been confident.
“I think I am surrounded by boys, and all the men in my life are confident. If we have to be together, you have to be that confident to be with my brothers that carry a chip on their shoulders,” she added.
The actress also reflected on her time in the Big Brother Africa house, specifically addressing the rumors surrounding her relationship with fellow housemate Angelo.
Beverly admitted to being deeply in love with Angelo, acknowledging that her comfort around him may have been misinterpreted.
“I was madly in love with Angelo and got too comfortable around him, which led to the rumours,” she revealed. Despite the public perception, Beverly clarified that nothing inappropriate took place during the reality show.
“I have people that love me for who I am. And the highlight of it is that I didn’t do it. I was 20… I brought out so many things from Big Brother, other than that [my relationship with Angelo],” she concluded, putting the rumors to rest.
