Ondo State Governor-elect, Lucky Ayedatiwa, has pledged to provide better services to the people of Ondo State following his victory in the just-concluded governorship election.

Speaking to reporters after being declared the winner on Sunday, Aiyedatiwa said his win is a call to work harder for the state.

“The people should expect better service. That’s what they’ve been looking forward to because I campaigned across the entire local government,” he said.

The governor highlighted his visits to various communities during the campaign, noting that the experiences helped him understand the people’s needs. “In almost all the communities we visited, we saw the roads, the environment they are living in, we heard their voices, we read their messages, and we listened to their yearnings and aspirations,” he added.

He assured residents that his administration would keep its promises. “They believe that whatever we say is what we will do. We will not tell them what we cannot do. We will do all that we have promised within the limited resources available to us.”

Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, defeated Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party in what was described as a peaceful election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner around 2:30 pm on Sunday.

The APC had earlier congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his victory and praised INEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders for ensuring a successful election process.
