The Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Steven Hwande, announced on Wednesday that the hospital will soon open a Very Important Personality Clinic.

This clinic will provide privacy for prominent people who need medical care.

Dr. Hwande made this announcement during a press briefing for this year’s International Investment Summit. He highlighted that the summit will include a medical scientific exhibition where various medical equipment will be displayed.

“The theme of the summit is ‘Attaining One Stock Hospital’ where quality treatment can be received,” Dr. Hwande said. He added that the two-day event will feature an endowment fund and recognition of those who have supported the hospital.

Dr. Hwande explained, “Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, is set to open an International Investment Summit. The aim is to mimic what is happening everywhere, and part of it is to achieve medical tourism. We are having an exhibition from Thursday, which is a medical scientific exhibition on research and training. During this exhibition, people will come to display medical equipment.”

He also noted that the hospital faces significant challenges, especially with water and electricity supply.

“The hospital is also going to set up a VIP clinic,” Dr. Hwande confirmed.

This new development aims to enhance the hospital’s services and attract more patients, contributing to the goal of achieving medical tourism in the region.
