An Associate Professor of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (UAM), Mr Karl Kwaghger, was gruesomely murdered on Saturday, November 28.

The Benue State Police Command confirmed Kwaghger’s killing via its spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria NAN on Sunday in Makurdi.

Speaking on the murder, Anene confirmed that the deceased who was a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering department was discovered lifeless around 11 p.m at the premises of the JS Tarka Foundation in Makurdi.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that Kwaghger’s assailants were four unknown men who cornered him around 9:30pm opposite IBB square, hit him on the head with a hard object, stabbed him repeatedly before sliding his throat.

Anene, however, revealed that the deceased’s remains have been deposited at the mortuary while investigations are ongoing.
