Nigerian singer Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has said he recently discovered that fellow award-winning artist Adekunle Kosoko, widely known as Adekunle Gold, is his relative.
The 30-year-old artist stated that the 39-year-old Adekunle Gold is his uncle, linking the connection to the royal Kosoko family of Lagos Island.
In his words, “Just found out adekunleGOLD is my uncle, Iga Kosoko mo foh oo small world So I’m deja’s uncle Love it!”
Adekunle Gold has not publicly confirmed or denied the claim. However, several users on X have questioned the assertion, expressing doubts that the two musicians are related.
Bella Shmurda is widely reported to be a native of Ikorodu in Lagos, though he was raised in the Okokomaiko area of Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria.
