BEDC announces eight-day blackout in Delta communities

Benin Electricity Distribution Company has announced that Warri and Effurun areas in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas of Delta State are set to experience an eight-day blackout starting from Monday, December 4 to Monday, December 11, 2023.

In a statement issued by the BEDC, Warri Region, the company explained that the planned power outage is crucial for the replacement of the old 11KV Indoor Panel Circuit Breakers at Okoloba ISS.

The affected areas during this period will include PTI, Airport Road, Sapele Road, Effurun, and the surrounding Warri environs.

The statement released on Sunday night reassured customers of BEDC’s commitment to ensuring better service. It read:

“This is to inform our esteemed customers that we are replacing the old 11KV Indoor Panel Circuit Breakers at Okoloba ISS, tomorrow Monday 4th December 2023, and to be completed on or before 11th December 2023.

“Please kindly bear with us, as BEDC is committed to serving you better.”

This announcement comes on the heels of a recent blackout that affected Warri and Effurun metropolis for about two weeks.

The BEDC expressed its understanding of the inconvenience caused and sought the cooperation of residents during the upcoming eight-day blackout for the essential repair work.
