Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Sabrina Idukpaye, has revealed that she was not allowed to return to the show despite being declared medically fit by doctors.
The 32-year-old had exited the show earlier in the week after experiencing health issues, and informed her fellow housemates on Monday that she was stepping away to seek proper medical attention.
The show’s organisers confirmed her departure in a statement, noting that she had consulted with Big Brother and the on-site medical team before making the decision to leave.
However, during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, Sabrina disclosed that she had undergone a series of medical tests and had expected to rejoin the competition after receiving a clean bill of health.
“After exiting, I was transported to a hospital and led to a gynaecologist. He examined the same day. An admission was then asked by the clinic. On Tuesday, I was told all results were unremarkable. Nothing was wrong with me. I was told I was fine,” she said.
Sabrina explained that the news left her hopeful, as she believed it meant she could return to the show. She added that she was left in limbo for five days without access to her phone or any external communication while awaiting further instructions.
“I was elated because I believed it meant I would be on my way back to the journey I started. I was told to hold on. So I did, with no outside communication or interaction. I prayerfully longed for a call that would confirm my return, but days passed and nothing.”
“On Friday, I received what I consider one of the most excruciating calls of my life. On the call, I was told, ‘I have the unfortunate task of telling you that you would no longer be returning to the show.’”
She said the call came while she was still at the hospital awaiting the next steps in her care.
“I waited for five days. Do I want to come back? Of course, yes. I don’t think my journey has ended. I miss Kola as much as he misses me, I miss the lights, I miss diary sessions, I haven’t worn half of the clothes I brought in,” she added.
