Evicted Big Brother Naija 10/10 housemate, Kayi Kunmi, has shared the key lessons he gained during his time in the house, highlighting self-awareness, resilience, and the value of authenticity as his biggest takeaways.
In a post-eviction interview with select journalists, the stylish housemate opened up about the personal growth he experienced through the intense and often dramatic environment of the BBNaija house.
“I’m grateful for the platform BBNaija provided me,” Kunmi said. “It’s taught me the importance of being true to oneself, even under intense scrutiny.”
One of the major aspects of his journey was his relationship with fellow housemate Isabella. While it drew attention both inside and outside the house, Kunmi stood by his choices.
“I have no regrets about my relationship with Isabella,” he said.
“Staying true to myself was more important than public perception.”
However, he acknowledged the challenges that came with the relationship, noting that Isabella’s strong personality influenced how other housemates interacted with him.
“Some people avoided conversations with me just to prevent issues with her,” he explained.
Kunmi also touched on a decision that shifted dynamics in the house—accepting Thelma’s invitation to become a house guest. He admitted he didn’t foresee how it would affect his bond with Isabella. “I didn’t realize the impact it would have on my relationship with Isabella,” he admitted. “Thelma was looking out for me and wanted me to put myself out there more, but I later apologized to Isabella for my actions.”
The emotional toll of the experience at one point pushed him to consider leaving the show voluntarily. “Faith encouraged me to stay strong and not let the situation get to me,” he said, pointing to the mental and emotional resilience he had to build during his time in the house.
Reflecting on his overall strategy, Kunmi said he began the game cautiously but gradually embraced his natural personality. Still, he believes he could have done more. “I regret not speaking up more and putting myself out there more during my stay,” he admitted.
With BBNaija now behind him, Kayi Kunmi says he’s focused on the future, particularly expanding his fashion label and client base. But above all, it’s the life lessons from the house that he values most. “The experience has made me more aware of who I am and taught me to own my story, no matter what,” he said.
