Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen assures that head coach Thomas Tuchel will retain his position despite recent losses.
The team’s 3-2 defeat in the Bundesliga marks their third consecutive loss across various competitions, including setbacks against Lazio and Bayer Leverkusen.
Dreesen expressed disappointment but refrained from making definitive statements about the coach’s future. He emphasized that the coaching situation is not a primary concern presently.
“I feel rubbish. I don’t believe in big statements about the coach. This issue isn’t on our mind at the moment.
When asked directly about Tuchel’s status for the coming week, Dreesen affirmed his continuation.
“Of course,” he said
The match against Bochum saw Bayern take the lead through Jamal Musiala, but fan protests and interruptions characterized the game.
Bochum capitalized with goals from Takuma Asano and Keven Schlotterbeck, further extending their lead with a penalty from Kevin Stoger after Dayot Upamecano’s dismissal.
Despite Harry Kane’s contribution, Tuchel expressed frustration at the outcome, highlighting the team’s dominant performance and numerous missed opportunities.
“I don’t think today’s defeat was fair, I think a lot went against us today.
“I think we had an expected goals (xG) value of 3.4 and we had four, five, six top chances.
“We completely dominated the game and actually went behind out of nowhere. We never stopped putting in the effort until the end and then played with a man down for a long time. A lot went against us today. I feel today’s defeat is different to the last two,” he said.
Bayern, vying for their 12th consecutive league title, currently hold the second position with 50 points. Bochum’s victory propelled them to 11th place in the league standings.
