The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has halted all academic activities following the Bauchi State Government’s directive to close schools over rising security threats.

In a memo sent to staff and students on Monday, the institution’s Deputy Registrar (Academics), Safiyo Yila, acting on behalf of the Registrar, confirmed the suspension.

The memo stated, “Sequel to the public announcement by the Bauchi State Government, which directed the closure of all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions within the state due to security concerns, I am directed to inform you that all academic activities have been suspended with immediate effect.”

Yila added that the resumption date would be communicated later and urged all heads of departments to ensure compliance to safeguard staff and students.

The suspension comes amid growing insecurity in the state, as the government seeks to protect students and school communities.

This move follows the closure of schools across Bauchi due to attacks and kidnappings targeting students in parts of northern Nigeria.
