Nigerian singer, actor, and politician, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has achieved a major academic milestone by earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., United States.
Banky W made the announcement on Tuesday through a post on his Instagram page, where he shared details of the tough but fulfilling journey.
“I am thankful to share that I have just earned my Master’s degree in Policy Management (some institutions call it an MPA — Master’s of Public Administration),” he wrote.
The music star revealed that while studying full-time, he was also serving as a Fellow on Capitol Hill and raising two children with his wife. Their second child, Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington, was born during this period.
“Parenting two children in the US, while earning a full-time Master’s and serving as a Fellow on Capitol Hill all at the same time was completely exhausting,” he said.
“But by the grace of God, the strength of faith and the support of family and friends, we did it.”
Banky W described the experience as life-changing and spoke about how important it is to take time to reflect on personal growth and direction.
“What many may see as the finish line of a journey can become the starting point of the next chapter of your story,” he said.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup, and so sometimes, it is necessary to step off the dance floor and onto the balcony… to reflect on how far you have come, who you are, and who you would like to become.”
He ended his message with words of encouragement to others who may be struggling with challenges in life.
“There’s always room for a new beginning,” he wrote.
Banky W, known for his hit songs, acting roles, and political ambitions, has continued to inspire fans by showing that with hard work and faith, anything is possible.
