Suspected bandits attacked Kanzanna village in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Wednesday, killing two people and kidnapping three others.

The Kebbi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, confirmed the attack in a statement.

Abubakar said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Aimiono-Wane, had visited the village to sympathize with the villagers and deploy a combined team of mobile, anti-kidnapping, and counter-terrorism personnel to the area.

The police are currently combing nearby forests, routes, and suspected hideouts to track the bandits and rescue the victims.

The Commissioner of Police condemned the attack and assured the victims’ families that the command would do everything possible to rescue the abducted persons.

The police boss added that detectives would not leave a stone unturned in the rescue operations and to keep criminal elements at bay he described the unprovoked attack as unfortunate and an attempt to undermine the efforts of security agencies, which will meet stiff resistance, he said.
