Suspected armed bandits have attacked an outpost of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Niger State, making away with a service rifle.

The attack occurred at an NSCDC nipping point in Ibrahim Leteh Village along the Wawa–Luma Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attackers struck at about 4:30 a.m., firing shots at the facility.
Security sources said the two NSCDC personnel on duty were forced to take cover as the assailants fired repeatedly at the patrol vehicle and the office at the location.

During the attack, the bandits reportedly stole one G3 rifle officially issued to an NSCDC officer. No casualties were recorded in the incident.

Following the attack, security operatives visited the area and documented the damage as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities said efforts are underway to recover the stolen rifle and apprehend the perpetrators, while security presence in the area has been strengthened to forestall further attacks.
