Gunmen suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the wife of the paramount ruler of Ninzo chiefdom, Alhaji Umar Musa, in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident took place on Wednesday night at the ruler’s palace in Fadan-Ninzo.
An eyewitness reported that the bandits invaded the palace and began shooting indiscriminately before abducting the traditional ruler and his wife, along with other residents of the community.
According to the Spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, the kidnapped traditional ruler later managed to escape from the bandits.
He said, “The traditional ruler escaped after the bandits abandoned him due to the heavy pressure mounted by police operatives who rushed to the area upon receiving the distress call.”
ASP Hassan added that the police are actively pursuing the bandits to rescue the traditional ruler’s wife and other hostages still in captivity. “Police operatives are on the trail of the bandits to rescue the traditional ruler’s wife and other hostages,” he assured.
