Armed bandits launched an attack on Chekugi community in the Lafiagi Emirate of Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, on Tuesday night, abducting four residents, according to security sources.
The incident came just hours after another coordinated assault earlier the same day in Motokun community, located in Patigi Local Government Area, where six individuals were kidnapped.
The attack on Motokun reportedly resulted in the death of a pregnant woman, while several others sustained injuries due to heavy gunfire unleashed by the attackers during the raid.
As of the time of filing this report, both the Kwara State Police Command and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had yet to issue official statements or respond to inquiries regarding the twin attacks.
