Badoo kills Redeemed pastor, wife, son unconscious
Some assailants, suspected to be members of the Badoo cult group, have killed a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Fingers of God Parish, Victor Kanayo, in the Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Kanayo’s wife and child were said to be unconscious and had been admitted to the Ikorodu General Hospital.
The attack occurred shortly after the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, held a meeting with security operatives, community and religious leaders at the palace of the Ikorodu monarch, Oba Abdulrasheed Shotobi.
The meeting, which started at 10 pm on Saturday was said to have ended around 1am on Sunday, due to the resumed onslaught of the cult group.
It was learnt that the Badoo cult struck early Sunday morning in the Offin area of Igbogbo and killed the pastor. His wife and their 10-month-old child were said to have been brutalised with two big stones with which Kanayo was killed.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said investigations were ongoing into the incident, adding that some suspects had been arrested.
