A babysitter simply identified as Florian K., has been charged to court after being charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

He allegedly abused the boy while staying with his family and sleeping in the child’s bunk bed.

The 37-year-old was accused of abusing the 11-year-old boy almost 1,000 times while he was employed as the child’s babysitter in Munich, Germany, for seven years.

Unknown to the boy’s parent, a single mother-of-two, Florian K. already had a criminal record for sexual abuse at the time which he hid from potential employers.

The mother of two had found Florian K. on a website for babysitters advertising their services in 2010, according to German daily Bild.

She hired him to care for her son, with Florian K. even becoming ‘a father figure for the victim’, according to the public prosecutor.

The babysitter soon started spending the night at the family’s home and sometimes even slept in the boy’s bunk bed.

However, when everyone else was asleep, the babysitter abused the boy, then aged 11, the prosecutor alleges. The abuse is said to have happened for years, sometimes even daily.

He allegedly developed a code system with emojis and used it to announce the sexual acts to the boy, for example by sending him an open mouth emoji to demand oral sex.

Florian K. told the victim that while this normally was forbidden, in their case ‘it was different because they were both having fun’, the court heard.

The babysitter is accused of abusing the boy at least 993 times by the time he turned 18 over a seven-year period.

He denied the charges and only admitted to abusing a six-year-old boy in 2008, for which he was sentenced to two years in youth detention at the time.

Florian K. told the court he was sexually abused as a child himself while attending boarding school and complained about being ostracised because of his criminal record, which he said left him unable to find a job.

He then constructed a web of lies to make himself more employable, posing as a psychologist and even claiming to have his own children.

But he was found out when the boy, who is now 25, confided in a fellow student and notified police in 2023, with forces arresting Florian K. in early 2024 in Munich.

He has been held in investigatory custody for more than a year now. The trial continues.
