Baby will never meet his mom, but she’ll sing him to sleep every night thanks to stranger

Jared Buhanan-Decker, 33 never thought he would have to rely on a total stranger to hold on to pieces of memories of Sherry Buhanan-Decker, 29, his wife of nearly 12 years.

But that was the last resort after Sherry died during child birth four months ago from amniotic fluid embolism – a rare condition that occurs when the fluid that surrounds the baby in the fetus gets into the mothers blood stream.

During the emergency birth of Sherry’s baby, doctors did a C-section on Sharry and were able to successfully deliver the baby boy.

“Counting down to it as the happiest days of our life, ended up being the worst.” Buhanan-Decker told KUTV.

Since the day Sherry died, Buhanan-Decker said he’s been looking through mementos she left behind and one of those hidden treasures was recordings of her voice — songs she wrote years ago.

“I found these songs on a format that I couldn’t convert,” Buhanan-Decker said. So he went to Reddit and asked for help.

Within hours dozens of people from around the country and replied and said they would take care of it.

“I remember one of the first ones a guy was just like, ‘I’ll have this done within an hour,” Buhanan-Decker said.
Now almost every night, he rocks his baby boy J.J. to sleep while listening to his mom sing to him.
