Baba Ijesha didn’t have sex with victim, Yomi Fabiyi insists

Nollywood actor and activist, Yomi Fabiyi has continued to publicly defend his colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, who is currently standing trial for allegedly defiling the foster daughter of comedienne Damilola Adekoya aka Princess.

WuzupNigeria reported that Baba Ijesha has been in police custody since April 22, when the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest for allegedly violating the 14-year-old girl.

However, the case took a different twist on Wednesday, June 16 when Baba Ijesha was denied bail at a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

One of the counsels for the suspect, Kayode Olabinran prayed the court grant his client bail on health grounds.

A disappointed Yomi Fabiyi claimed that the police have no evidence against Baba Ijesha because the victim had vowed that he never defile her at any point.

Fabiyi, decried the public humiliation the actor has been subjected in a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday.

This is just as he called for the prosecution of the complainants who he claimed arranged for the actor to be caught on camera allegedly defiling the 14-year-old girl.

”Part of my concerns and why the law must act unbiased. Fighting for the rights of the child means getting justice against all abuses and assaults done against her innocence and her wish.

“Have you ask yourself, what if in the process of the set up there was violence, door locked behind and aside been raped, the girl was killed, will ALL THE ADULTS INVOLVED be let go.

“How can the law be BLIND to that and set a horrible antecedent for several innocent children in our society?
