Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, AY Comedian, has reacted to a viral AI-generated video that falsely shows him kissing May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie.

The doctored video, which spread widely on social media, appears to show AY and May sharing a kiss on a flight to the United Kingdom for the premiere of his movie, The Waiter.

Reacting to the video, AY Comedian strongly condemned the spread of false information and urged content creators to use their skills for positive change instead of misleading the public.

He also referenced a similar case involving reality TV star Alex Unusual, who was previously accused of having a romantic relationship with him. He warned against the dangers of misinformation and cyberbullying.

In a social media post, AY wrote; “Dear Online Innovators, as the future leaders and change-makers of Nigeria, I urge you to channel your immense creative talents toward building a better nation rather than tearing each other down.”

He emphasized the need for positivity and collaboration, saying:

“Nigeria is rich with potential, and your unique skills—be it in art, music, technology, or entrepreneurship—can be pivotal in driving positive change. Instead of using your creativity to undermine those who are working hard to improve their lives and contribute to society, let’s focus on uplifting one another.”

Referencing the Alex Unusual incident, AY questioned why people were trying to discredit those working with him.

“The other time, it was the poor @alex_unusual who is yet to come out of all the lies and narratives meted out on her person for choosing to always support a family who were a major part of her brand growth. Must you all chase away everyone working with me or trying to earn an honest living through me?”

He called for unity, urging Nigerians to support one another’s efforts rather than spreading falsehoods.

“Let’s come together to support one another’s hustles, celebrate our achievements, and inspire a culture of innovation and respect. The future of Nigeria depends on our collective efforts to foster an environment where everyone can thrive.”
