A Nigerian TV host, Bolanle Olukanni has expressed her displeasure about the Austria embassy rejecting her parent’s visa.
In a post shared by the media personality on her personal X page, she stated that her father who was a former Ambassador had lived and served in Austria for three years was denied visa alongside her mom.
Her posts read, “I just want you guys to know that the Nigeria passport has really been bastardized. My father is a whole retired Ambassador who lived and served in Austria for 3 years. He applied for a schengen visa alongside my mum and the Austrian embassy denied their visas😂😂.”
Still reacting soeaking on her displeasure she further wrote, “Do you realize the lack of diplomacy and courtesy and disregard for a country you have to have to deny a former foreign service officer a visa. A Foreign service officer who served for 30 years and has been to over 30 countries 😂😭😭😭😂.”
Nigerians on X.com have however reacted to her post.
An X user, Social Nerd wrote, “These politicians kids act like Govt just picks a random dude from iyana paja to become the ambassador to another country. He might have not been in the champions league but your father is part of the political elite responsible for the rot you are complaining about.”
Another X user, @RealEso also wrote, “I strongly believe your father have question to answer-the country he served as a diplomat refused him visiting visa.I know in time past in the 70’s,80’s and 90’s before the awareness, diplomats were taken advantage of their immunity to carry drxgs in their diplomatic pouches..”
Still reacting, another X user, LeTiny_ wrote, “This is somehow. As an ambassador in Austria, what did he do for his country? Because I think he was in a better position to get the Nigerian passport respected in Austria alone, at least. I find it hard to feel sorry for him. More politicians should experience this.”
Furthermore, Olukanni debunked the notion that her parents were relocating abroad.
She said, “They think he wants to japa to Austria 😭😭 I’m so insulted. Lord”
