Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State has pardoned four individuals who have renounced their membership in cult groups.

Dr. Salisu Umar, the Rector of the polytechnic, announced this during a gathering with the repentant cult members.

Umar encouraged all students at the institution to disassociate themselves from cults.

The management of Auchi Polytechnic organized a renunciation program where former cult members publicly declared their withdrawal from secret cult groups.

“Renouncing cultism means abandoning a reckless lifestyle and evil ways, as nothing good comes from such actions,” stated the rector. He also emphasized that the polytechnic has instituted a zero-tolerance policy for cultism.

The rector warned that after the renunciation program, any staff or students caught engaging in cult-related activities would face appropriate penalties and punishment.

Dr. Umar stressed that the fight against cultism is a collective effort, urging churches and mosques to establish strong youth departments and mentorship programs to guide young individuals away from such associations.

One former cult member, Mr. Daniel Osita, praised those who renounced cultism, noting that their decision opens positive doors to their futures.

He also advised students to be cautious about the choices they make in life, emphasizing that these choices can either enhance or hinder their future prospects.
