Atiku mourns victims as Anthony Joshua survives Ogun road accident

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sadness over the road accident involving Nigerian-born boxing star Anthony Joshua in Makun, Ogun State, which reportedly claimed the lives of two individuals.

In a statement shared on social media on Monday, Atiku said he was saddened by the incident and stood in full solidarity with Joshua during the difficult moment.

He prayed for the former heavyweight champion’s swift and complete recovery, describing him as a symbol of strength and resilience.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the road accident involving @anthonyjoshua today in Makun, Ogun State. I stand in full solidarity with him during this difficult moment and pray for his swift and complete recovery,” Atiku said.

The former vice president also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the two people who lost their lives in the crash, praying for the repose of their souls and comfort for those left behind.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the families and loved ones of the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in the accident. May their souls rest in peace, and may their families find comfort and strength in this time of sorrow,” he added.

Anthony Joshua is reported to have survived the accident with minor injuries.

Authorities are yet to release full details on the cause of the crash as investigations continue.
