ASUU LAUTECH disowns school resumption
The ASUU chapter of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, has dissociated itself from a purported resumption noticed issued by the school’s Registrar.
The chapter said that its member will continue with the nationwide strike action until the Federal Government meets its demand.
The union said that its national body will be the one tp make the call for resumption of academic activities when the strike action is finally called off.
According to LAUTECH ASUU Chairman, Dr Biodun Olaniran;
“Our union is in receipt of the 2019/2020 amended academic calendar released by the Vice-Chancellor (Prof. Michael Ologunde) through the Office of the Registrar. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, LAUTECH branch, wishes to dissociate itself from the said memo. This is against the principles of our union and we wish to inform the general public that our branch is actively participating and is also in full support of the ongoing national struggle.
“We, therefore, urge parents and students to note that our members are not in position to conduct any academic activities including the conduct of examinations.”
